Brief Description of Courses Malabon
Full-Time and Nazarite Training Materials
PART I - LIFE
I. INTRODUCTION
The training materials are based on Brother Witness
Lee’s trainings and conferences given in Anaheim,
California and other places. The courses of study
include the life-studies of Acts, Romans, 1 and 2
Timothy and Titus, Hebrews, and
Revelation. Other books used for
this subject are “The Experience and Growth
in Life, ”Life Lessons" and “Basic
Lessons on Life.” These messages are pursued
in the style of public reading and sharing among the
trainees.
II. LESSONS
A. Life-study Messages
1. Life-study on the book of Acts
- The book of Acts is a continuation of the Gospel
of Luke. In contrast to the Gospel of Luke, which
describes the life, and ministry of the Lord on earth
from His conception to His ascension, the book of
Acts records the Lord’s living and ministry
in His ascension. This book serves as the “backbone”
of the New Testament, dividing the four Gospels from
the Epistles. The subject is the propagation of the
resurrected Christ in His ascension, by the Spirit,
through the disciples, for the producing of the churches
- the kingdom of God.
2. Life-study of Romans - The book
of Romans explains how the individual Christ can become
the corporate Christ and how all of us who were once
sinners and enemies of God can become members of Christ
and form His one Body. The book of Romans offers us
a full definition of this, unfolding both the Christian
life and the church life in detail. Thus, we come
to the book of Romans for training on the Christian
life and the church life, likewise for knowing and
experiencing the judicial redemption and the organic
salvation.
3. Life-study of 1, 2 Timothy and
Titus - First Timothy unveils God’s economy
concerning the church. Second Timothy inoculates us
against the decline of the church. Titus is concerned
with maintaining the order of the church. The purpose
of these three books is to preserve the church as
the proper expression of the Triune God.
4. Life-study of Hebrews - The root
of the word Hebrews means, "to cross over",
that is to cross over a river from one region to another
and from one side to another. The book of Hebrews
was especially written to the river-crossers. The
purpose of its writing is to confirm to the staggering
Hebrew believers the genuine Christian faith and to
warn them not to deviate from it, but to forsake their
Jewish religion since Christ is superior to everything
related to Judaism. The contents include the heavenly
Christ with all the heavenly items.
5. Life-study of Revelation - The
book of Revelation is a book of prophecy not merely
in words but in visions revealed to the seer. Being
the last book of the entire Bible, it concludes not
only the New Testament but also the entire Bible as
well. As one of the writings of the Apostle John,
it is also the conclusion of John’s writings.
It contains the revelation of Christ, the church and
God’s economy.
B. The Life Lessons
Lessons for this subject cover the
four volumes of Life Lessons. These Lessons have been
specifically prepared for the home meetings of the
believers.
The first two volumes cover different
matters between a believer and God, which he should
know, understand, and practice immediately after his
salvation. The last two volumes cover the full salvation
which God has prepared in Christ for us who have believed
into Him, the riches which we have obtained in Christ,
the experience which we should have in Christ, the
things which we should accomplish in Christ, and the
goal which we should attain in Christ.
C. Experience and Growth
in Life
This subject is identical to the
title of the book from which it is extracted. “The
Experience and Growth in Life” is composed of
31 messages given by Brother Witness Lee in the full-time
training in Anaheim, California.
D. Basic Lessons on Life
The subject is taught and discussed
in the full-time advanced class using the book, “Basic
Lessons on Life.” This book has twenty messages
given by Brother Witness Lee in Anaheim, California.
These brief messages on life may
be considered as groceries which we need to cook in
a living way through much prayer. We have to pray
ourselves into each message, pray ourselves into a
burden, and pray that the message will become living
and personal to us.
E. Christian Living
The book “Christian Living”
has a total of twenty-two messages.
It covers topics on walking according
to the spirit, rising up early, prayer, Bible reading,
gospel preaching, testifying, meeting, the Lord’s
Day, hymn-singing, praising, and breaking of bread.
Practical matters in this course include recreation,
speaking, clothing, food, profession (job), management
of finance, marriage, selection of counterpart, husband
and wife, and parents.
F. The All-inclusive Christ
This book is composed of sixteen
messages given by Brother Witness Lee in Los Angeles,
California.
In this series of messages we are
given a panoramic view of the land of Canaan, which
is the type of the all-inclusive Christ. We see that
the city and the temple built on the land of Canaan
are types of the fullness of Christ, which is His
Body, the Church. Thus, what we will consider is the
all-inclusive Christ, out of which and upon which
the fullness of Christ, the Church is built.
III. THE GOAL
The knowledge of the word of God
leads us to experience and enjoy the life therein.
IV. CONCLUSION
The goal of the subject on life is
to turn objective knowledge into subjective realization
through the exercise of the spirit with the renewed
mind. |
