In the most recent speaking of Bro. Liu Chi Cheng (Co-workers and Elders’ Meeting in Manila on Sept. 3, 2008; and On-the-job Young People’s Conference of Metro Manila in Malabon on Sept. 28, 2008), he had been drumming up and reminding us of the healthy leading through which he brought us up and advanced in the Lord’s work. In response to this, may we all respond in a sincere prayer…

May the leading of Bro. Liu Chi Cheng to all co-workers, elders, responsible ones, and serving ones in the churches in the whole Regions I-VI be closely followed (2 Tim. 3:10) and may all the brothers and sisters enter into practicing these:

I. Being universal (brothers and sisters) of all services in the work and in the church life (except in the eldership), illustrated in the poster of bearing the ark of testimony (see figure on next page; the most proper is # 8).

II. The practice of “6 Ones” and “6 Not’s”:

A. 6 Ones:

1. One spirit
2. One soul
3. One prayer
4. One work
5. One labor
6. One building

B. 6 Not’s:

1. Not afraid of suffering
2. Not afraid of difficulties
3. Not showing one’s poverty
4. Not soliciting fund
5. Not afraid of death
6. Not loving one’s soul-life

III. The propagation of the churches by the churches.

IV. Local soldiers fighting the local battle.

V. “I’ll rather die in the battlefield than on a sick bed.”

VI. Unceasingly pray:

First Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Unceasingly pray.” There is only one thing a living person has to do unceasingly and that’s breathing. For God to command us to pray unceasingly is for Him to equate prayer to breathing. In the past two and a half decades of direct coordination with brother Liu Chi Cheng one most impressive practice which he lives out is to unceasingly pray. We can testify that the FTTM has been sustained by such prayers. Not unknown to everybody the FTTM is totally by faith. Everyday during training time, 8:00 – 8:30 A.M. until his physical body was capable, brother Liu would have all trainers and co-workers who are in town to come together for prayer. He would even have the items listed down first on a white board then later on through a printed material which we have today as the prayer items of the Lord’s work in Regions I-VI, from which now also a number of churches are using in their personal and corporate prayers. Then item by item we would bring each to the Lord. Prayer is the real denial of self (Holy Word for Morning Revival, Crystallization-study of Luke, Week 3, Outline I.E.2). We could see in him this selflessness. Big things and small things, Brother Liu would always refer to the Lord first. He would always tell us, pray first before action. Thank the Lord for such a pattern for us to emulate even up to the 44th term of the FTTM, we have continued what brother Liu has instituted.

For one to be able to practice the six not’s: not of afraid of suffering, not afraid of difficulties, not showing one’s poverty, not soliciting fund, not afraid of death, not loving one’s soul-life, he needs to pray unceasingly. To pray is to be joined to the Source. Whatever one lacks can be supplied by the Source since the Source is the very great I AM.
